This instrument has a flat, straight pedal board (30 notes) which is offset to one side by one note. Unfortunately, I ran into this difficulty while playing the Fantasia in Eb Major by Camille Saint-Saëns for an AGO Hymn Festival several years ago.[:(]

It plays fine, but as all square grands, it doesn't hold its tune very well. It is tuned approximately ½ step lower than today's pianos. Tune it any higher and it breaks strings. As a result of me breaking a string, I had to replace the bass strings.

1898 Sears & Roebuck Pump Organ404 viewsThis organ was purchased for my Grandmother, who lived in Haynes, Alabama (near Prattville/Montgomery). After the house was ransacked following my Grandmother's death, I transported the organ to my current home where this photo was taken.
I have replaced the broadcloth, and plant to replace the treads with one of the two materials on the organ stool.
