Can somebody please tell me why on a lot of 60s - 70s consoles the the volume balances are managed by very crude and limiting boost tabs. This is not a very good way to fine tune the volume balances. I used this black vinyl clad powered speaker for a while on gigs. Perhaps late 70s, early 80s. Roland or Revo rings a bell but I am very unsure. Any ideas??

Believe it or not, I used to take this setup to gigs at the local clubs and private parties. I controlled the keyboards accompaniment with the Thomas pedals. This took a bit of wiring. I bought the X5 for a few Dollars in the 80s. I had to replace a few custom IC's with purpose built tiny boards that plugged into the IC sockets. It was made in Japan with a pleasant enough organ sound but lacking grunt. I sold it with a good profit to the organ player of the Australian Doors Cover Band.
