Can somebody please tell me why on a lot of 60s - 70s consoles the the volume balances are managed by very crude and limiting boost tabs. This is not a very good way to fine tune the volume balances. The light key action of the Conn 643 enables my Lorikeet 'Codie' to play random tunes.

I bought the X5 for a few Dollars in the 80s. I had to replace a few custom IC's with purpose built tiny boards that plugged into the IC sockets. It was made in Japan with a pleasant enough organ sound but lacking grunt. I sold it with a good profit to the organ player of the Australian Doors Cover Band.
