Fenrirlupus... I am so glad you replied to this very subject... you are the first! :)))) And I must say that you hit the main underlying concerns that I and my Father researched for months.
The viscosity of Singer sewing machine oil is ALMOST identical to that of the so-called vintage ''Hammond'' oil sold at premium prices by many online ...

I have a Hamond XB-2 which is one of the early models. It had light use but about 18 months ago it quit. A local service tech with Hammonds help repaired the instrument which included a new main board. It has again failed. This time when I powered it up, the LCD display lite up all ''green'' and the organ would not boot up. ...

Congratulations on your ''new'' instrument. I hope it will provide you with many years of enjoyment. As far as the ''sound'' of your H, this can be a rather personal thing...it will not replicate the classic ''B-3'' sound that you may have in your mind...the H sounds like an H. There are ways to alter the electrical system to change the H's ...

I am considering buying a hammond B-3 / leslie 145 combo and I know very little about what to look for. The seller has indicated that the twg is sticking at start-up and that it hasn't been played or serviced regularly although he is confident that with a little oil, it will work fine (he said has done this before). I have made ...

okay. After taking another look the organ does not have a leslie kit. It only has a the female jack for the hammond tone cabinet. The wires that I saw were connected underneath to the region around the tone cabint plug. I guess that is what my tech said by wiring up my a-100 for a leslie. I think the wire he put in was for the half moon ...

Hi,
I've just bought an L-Series Hammond (photos and description here), and am curious to know what the fundamental differences are between the L series and the M series. I would have expected to see a site somewhere that provides a comparison table between the different models, but have so far drawn blanks.
Thanks,
Matt
