  • wanted 32 pedal organ

I am on the hunt once again for an organ. It has to have 32 pedals. but it can be a theatre or classical organ. I hope it can be within driving distance from OMaha Nebraska. Doesnt have to work, but should look good. I will trade my 1968 rodgers 22b organ that works fully and looks great

I have a 1968 Rodgers 22B. 2 manual n pedals. I would like to know what is the easiest way to add midi to the manuals and pedals. Is there some system that just connects to the back of the manuals ...
  • Re: Cavaillé Coll Johannus information.

Well For no posting on this thread for a while I would like to say that I am now purchasing this organ. It will cost me $17,000 plus set up. I could not resist with that price and sound. The guy gave me a 45 minute video of the organ and I fell in love with it. It sounds just as good as the C-C demo on Youtube. I hope I really do like the organ, ...
  • Re: Disappearing Stops

Harmonic flutes are normally harmonic from middle F or treble C (i.e. for an 8' stop).  Standard Cavaille-Coll practice was to make the Grand Orgue 8' Flute harmonique harmonic from middle F.  Then 4' Flutes octaviantes and 2' Octavins (harmonic flutes, mind you, not principals these!) were harmonic from 1' C, as often were 8' Flutes ...

''Also Vierne had some stops removed from the recit to make room for the 1904 Mutin diapason 8-octave 4 and fourniture IV...The removal of the latter in 1992 along with a cymbale III from 1932 appears ill-begotten... Just how bad were those mixtures that they were removed? A modern recit needs them for playing more than French Symphonic ...

  • Re: Notre Dame, Paris (console question/history)

''The only mixture was a cornet harmonique progressive stop for enhancing the chorus of trompettes at 16-8-4. C-C fitted the 16 and 8 with fractional bells; something that Vierne was not pleased with and had Mutin correct in 1904 with full size pipes.'' Yes, apparently these were half-length basses, something not uncommon for Recit and Positif ...
