    Hammond RT3 Swell Pedal

    Hi

Does anyone know how to adjust the friction of the swell pedal on a C3/RT3? Mine is just flopping down into the loud position all the time (not a bad thing when the neighbours are out!).

I cannot find any info in the Service Manual.

    Cheers

    Dave

The pedal is mounted to a shaft. The shaft is held on each end by clamps that are mounted to the base. Those clamps have a screw running through them just under the shaft. By tightening those screws you cause more friction to the pedal. Also, there should be a spring on the expression mechanism that helps oppose gravity. (varies depending on model)

    Thanks George. All fixed!

There is a hook for a spring as well but the spring is missing (probably when the previous owner recently had the preamp rebuilt).
