    Leslie 720 problems

    Hello everybody.

I have a maybe small problem with my leslie speaker.

The problem start with blowed fuse marked "FZ3" 2A in the schematic diagram.

After the fuse was shifted, the motors on upper horn and woofer /lower drum behaves odd.

On leslie slow, the lower rotor is spinning slow, but the upper horn is standing still.

On leslie fast, the lower rotor stopped and standing still, but the upper horn spinn up to fast.

I can`t figure this out. Maybe it is a blown transistor in the control circuit for the motors?

Another thing, I also recognize that the rotor and the lower rotor is mowing in the same direction. Is this right?

I thought it should be separate ways.... What is correct?

    Best regards from Norway,

    Kurt Hobberstad

    Re: Leslie 720 problems

    Hello.

According to the schematics ( http://captain-foldback.com/Leslie_sub/Leslie_schematics/720.gif ), both slow motors are connected directly in parallel, and so are the fast motors. This means that the fault is either in the motors or the wires to the motors. I would start by applying mains voltage to the motors in turn, and see if they work.

I know the rotors are supposed to turn in opposite directions in conventional leslies, I would suppose it is like this in rotosonics too, but I'm not sure.

Cheers from a fellow Norwegian. Forresten, hvor i landet holder du til?

    Hi

No in Rotosonic Leslies, the drum turns in the same direction as the horns.

    Regards

But this is not rotosonic, it has a 10" woofer speaker on top, and a foam drum.

I thought that rotosonic was a drum with a 6x9" speaker inside...

Normally a leslie with rotosonic got a "RotoSonic" label or dekal on the cabinet

    Sorry my bad Embarrassed

I am thinking of the 710 (one of which I am selling to make way for the 122).

    Cheers
