This notion of terminating the ''pit'' of snakes is unappealing to the bullies.

NO. If you close it it will simply spread over the rest of the forum. The meaning of "greasepit" should be clear to anyone. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

I agree with Havoc.  At least the naughtiness can be contained in that area.  If you don't like the grease pit, don't go there!  It's that simple.

Keep it open. I'll go along with what Havoc has just said, we don't want to see what belongs here by design spreading to other areas. And yes, I think that making it accessible to members only would be a good idea.

I'll throw in a "no" vote for the same reasons given above.  Some (though not all) of the threads in the GP make unintentionally entertaining reading.

Members only suggestion is a good idea.  Starting now only members can view the contents of the Grease Pit.  If you get a "You don't have permission" type error when you click on the Grease Pit folder, you're not signed in.
