After more than a half century of research, the authoritative edition of Bach's music--the Neue Bach-Ausgabe (New Bach Edition)--is at last complete. The final volume was symbolically presented to the public on June 13 at St. Thomas Church, Leipzig during its Bach Festival. Those of you who have ever been involved with the world of musicology realize what a monumental accomplishment this is.
The complete set consists of more than 100 volumes, nine of which comprise the organ works. You can read a press release from the publisher, Barenreiter, detailing the history of this project at:

I want to thank all the people who labored so long to give us this beautiful edition of Bach's works. I will drink a good German beer in their honor!
