Allen Digital Computer Organ - 122C - in mint condition
Originally built in 1979, used exclusively as a practice organ in my parents' home. (They're now in their 80s, and recently - finally - moved from their house to a smaller condo.)
Model 122-C, with bench; 32 pedals; double manual with 46 stops; headphone jack; alterable voice; transposition; single pedal; built-in speakers (additional external speakers can be added); computer with card reader, cards included.
I just had it cleaned and inspected, and it checked out perfectly. The technician thought I should be able to get something close to $7000, but I'd like to sell sooner rather than later, so am asking $2500.
Located in the Chicago area. Available to pickup, or shipping can be arranged (at buyer's expense).
Please contact me at 708-771-2287 or susan.macaulay@comcast.netfor more information and/or photos.

Susan,
If your technician gave you a line that this organ is worth close to $7,000, he is either smokin something pretty potent or he is totally out of touch.
This organ is a 30 year old MOS-1 organ, with just internal speakers. My guess is you will be very fortunate to even get a nibble at $2,500.
These type of organs typically now go for $1,000 - $1,500. I have heard of MOS-1 go for $500 to $750. The market for used MOS-1 organs is not what it was even several years ago, so the prices have dropped dramatically.

AV,
I thought that $7000 was way out of the ballpark myself. It may be the case that $2500 is not realistic either, but itis my hope that the fact that this organ has been so carefully and lovingly maintained might count for something. I did some research before Iposted, and reallycouldn't find much comparable data onany of the Allen System C models, which is what this is.So who knows.
AlthoughI do play theorgan,I am a pianist by trainingas well as at heart, which is why I am now selling this instrument. My mother, on the other hand, also majored in piano, but was always really an organist, like my grandmother and great-grandmother before her, and so she really kept this organ in top condition. Both of my daughters are pianists as well, so we really don't use this organ in the way that it should be. I am hoping that it finds a good home.

While I would really like to see you sell that instrument for $2500, I would have to say that in this day and age, for a MOS-1 to have a snowballs chance selling, it would have to be available for a lot less. At most, probably about $800.

If someone were to make me an offer that was lower than $2500, I'd certainly consider it. But so far, no one has.

Yeah, the problem with a messageboard like this one is most people here already have what they want in terms of a practice instrument. Try craigslist if you haven't already.
