It is so true there are no mains fuses on the instruments, also there are lots of organs without pilot lamps as indication that the instrument is even turned on. I know that there are a lot of technicians that change out just the mains zip cord to the box, but do not change out the wires going up to the switches. Dry rot on insulation doesn't stop at the box, it is just the most noticeable location.

Again, last year there was a little over 200 churches that had fires where the direct cause of the fire was the organ. Now the report doesn't say what kind of organ, but they are at least tracking that the organ was the cause of the electrical fire.

point taken........but do realize the jist of my comment was supportive.........there are some badly wired Hammonds and Leslies out there, I have my 26/1 box separately wired and fused I, 3 wire 600v rate cable to a ground fault. My M3 was really miswired when i got it, and I have seen many Hammonds with BARE POWER WIRES, INSIDE AND OUT

Absolutely Joe, I didn't take offence nor thought you were being mean spirited about your statement. However I felt if I didn't address that comment, it would appear to others as if I was trying to be deceitful.

Joe- I have seen plenty of organs as you said "badly wired and bare copper", from all the organs that I have seen, it amazes me that there hasn't been more fires caused by these instruments.
