    B-2/A-100

I found this on the B3 guys site. It said it's a B-2/A-100.

It's just a B-2 in an A-100 cab right? Do they just move all the guts from one case to the other, or is it more involved than that? Has anyone on here ever done this?

Ah, the ol' chop'n swap routine. Yeah, looks like he traded the goods from the A-100. Maybe if you're lucky, he kept the amplifier intact and the A-100 (I guess its a B2-100, now) will play through the internal speakers.*

I don't understand the swap, other than cosmetic changes. After all, you just end up with a Heavier, and larger console in the end.*

From what I've heard, most portable B3 consoles are actually A100s, so you're left withempty cabinets that serve perfectly

for gutting old Bs out of their rotting or damaged shells.

In a way I like this possibility because, say you have a BV that got left out in rain, well you could just swap it into one of those mid sixties A cases that are left over when somebody vandalizes, I mean, chops one. In that sense, it's a good thing.

That's funny, I was saying the same thing, but I took to long to type and you beat me to it! []

I think what happened. The A100 guts were put in the B2, so they could ask 5000-10000 on Ebay calling it a B3. The B2 guts were then put back in the A100 case.

Isn't it ridiculous how bloated B3 prices have become? Meanwhile B2s, C3s, CV, etc. remain much more reasonable (my comparison anyway). I know one thing for sure, there's definetly no B3 in my future!

The C-3, my favorite style of that series, is becoming rather rare. [] It commands a price similar to the B on occasion, but the A-100, the most well equipped model, has dropped back down to some sane prices under 2k. If it stays like that, I will be able to get one. I would like an A-105 because of the folding top, but any A-1xx will do. In all actuality, the RT-3 is my tone wheel console of choice. Why have some when you can have it all? []

    Look at this. [8-)]
