howdy all im new to the forum and new to Hammonds also and just got an A100 and it has a cpl problems im hoping i can get some info on.......first of all there is no sound from the main internal amp that powers the 2 12 inch speakers......the reverb amp works fine and also the seperate tone cabinet but nothing from the 2 speakers to the left of the swell pedal........i tried switching all tubes in the amp itself...12ax7.......5u4 and the 2 el84......and it didnt make a difference...........all tubes light up but no sound...............also one of the bass pedals only plays the upper register of the note not the the lower sub frequencies.....hope i explained that right.........anyways like i said im new here and new to the hammond world too but have a beautiful a100 im hoping i can get fully running......thanks for the help chas
ok theres more to the puzzle here i discovered......and again forgive my lack of knowledge here but there is a metal box mounted under the lower manual on the far right side...this box has a switch and a 1/4 inch female jack on it.......after looking at the wiring diagram that came with the organ and seeing the soldering job ive figured out someone added this box after the organ was bought.....when the switch is in one position i get the reverb amp and the tone cab..i dont know what its really suppose to be doing but thats what it does now.....when its in the other position i get just the tone cab with no reverb......whoever installed that switch modified the wiring on the main power amp and im wondering if they knew what they were doing........any idea why this switch was installed and if it is something for the tone cab are there wiring diagrams available for it if it is....thanks chas
