    V-21

Here is probably a stupid question. Can I replace the V-21 driver in my 122 with a V-21 driver from a 21-H. I know I will have to swap the connector but other then that is everything OK? Also I bought the Gagne book for non technicians ( he uses that term losely)
and did the mod where you remove the 10 ohm resistor to get more bass out of the 16' drawbar for the pedals. Shortly after that my driver started distorting. Was this just coinsidence or is removing that resistor a bad Idea.
    Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure you can, but I am not an expert here.

As for the driver distorting, it is very possible that this is not a coincidence. It's possible that the capacitors in the crossover in your 122 have aged enough to let low frequencies through to the V-21, which will damage it at sufficient volume.

Give that it only costs a few dollars to refresh the caps in a crossover, I recommend that anybody with vintage Leslies do this at their earliest opportunity.
