It would be great if you would list the stops. I am wondering if the lower manual has Diapason listed twice? It is a odd one for sure.

    Here are the stops...

Top row from left to right:
    Pedal Major Bass/ Pedal Diapason/ Pedal Dolce/ Diapason/ Oboe/ Horn/ Gamba/ Trumpet/ Trombone/ ACC. Coupler 16'/ ACC. Coupler 8'/ ACC. Coupler 4'/ Light Vibrato/ Full Vibrato

Bottom row from left to right:
    Diapason/ Flute/ Diapason MP/ String/ Dulciana/ Percussion (Sustain)

The "Gyro Selector" knob on the right side of the organ has three positions. From left to right:
    Organ/ Gyro/ Ensemble

Now what exactly is the gyro selector? I haven't quite figured out what it does.

Gyro is Allen's rotating speaker. Should sound like a vibrato effect when it's on.

That's if you have the optional external Gyro cabinet, of course. If you have, then Organ will route the sound through the organ's speakers, Gyro through the Gyrophonic and Ensemble through both simultaneously. Without the cabinet attached, I'd guess that the Gyro posistion would produce no sound.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

So I got a response from Allen and this is what they said,

"This instrument is actually an inexpensive version of the Allen Sheraton 12 in an Organette console called an Allen Ensemble. This particular one was built June 1962. For the age, the console is in spectacular condition."

There you have it. Now I wonder what it's worth today?

Usually, the market value would be next to nothing for an organ this old, but this one looks spectacular and is probably very rare. Sentimental value to the owner and family? May be priceless!

We (that's Jan, actually!) now has to update the Allen section of the 'Mother List', as this is a new one for all of us. We'd still love to see inside to see whether it's tube/valve (as suggested by its age) or solid state (as suggested by that low power consumption).

Do things have to be confusing? Allen calls the local+remote speaker selector position ENSEMBLE and then they name the entire organ an ENSEMBLE also?
    Roland Atelier AT-90s, AT-80s, AT-60r, AT-15, and AT-30 (which is for sale). New: VM-760
Yamaha S-90, PSR-3000, Korg Triton Le-61 (for sale), Casio Privia PX-310, and Kurzweil PC-2x (for sale), PC-3x
    Moved on:
    Allen 3MT/Hauptwerk, Technics GA1, Yamaha HX1 and AR80, numerous Hammonds, including 2 M's, an L, 2 A-100's, XP-2, XM-1/1c, & an XK-3
