    Another Question. (Not For Me)

I have a friend with a Leslie 330. I know nothing about them, he's powering it with some sort of Trek box to use with his keyboard. After some sort of electrical issue/surge at his house the Leslie still works fine however when switch to fast neither the upper nor lower spins fast. Are those Leslie speakers relay driven for the switching mechanism? I advised him to join the board however he doesn't have internet readily available often. Any help to point him in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

likely a reed relay, can you post pics of it? 330 i don't know but if it is solid state many of the control boards are the same in 11 pin (and 9)
Googled it, 11 similar to a 760 likely and should have a relay board on the power chassis with 2 reed relays, does it stay on slow or does it stop when fast is selected?....................also common parts likely with the 130 and some parts of the 860
1956 M3, 130 custom leslie, 51 Leslie, 860 Leslie with Preamp, S08 Yamaha and K2000S, Young Chang 85 key spinet and Korg SV-1 73 less Hammonds, downsized they found a good home

I remember him distinctly saying that it stays on slow.

11 pin? Using a couple of jumper wires with clip leads (Cheap at Radio Shack) try jumping pins 5 and 6 down at where the cable plugs in (of course have the leslie cable unplugged) This will or should turn the Leslie on....providing that it is plugged into the wall. Then take another jumper wire and attach it to either pin 5 or 6 and the other end to pin 7 or pin 8. Do not connect to both pins 7 and 8 at the same time. Note if speed changes or that rotors spin at all. Pin 7 is fast speed and 8 is slow.

I have some better understanding. I went to see it the fast speed is about the speed of what show should be and slow is just barely turning. It is switching just doesn't have any speed to it.

Strange because you could see it cycle it's like it's in slow motion.

Wondering if one of the reed relays (slow speed) is stuck on? Or both fast and slow motors receiving voltage at the same time??

I told him he's in a bad situation when it's a surge while something is plugged in that could be horrible to everything.

While I'm certain you already checked, sometimes it's the small things. Is the belt slipping or something dragging on the rotor?
