Dimensions of B3 back cover panel

My BV was missing its back cover when I got it and after seeing what a replacement cost I'm going the diy route since it's just a plank of wood,I know it's easy enough to measure one out but can somone tell me the exact measurement and possibly post a picture of one on both sides so I can see exactly how an original is?much appreciated!!!!

That link about counterfeit organs from a couple of weeks ago had a nice shot of what it's supposed to look like.

I'll measure the back of my B3 when I get home tonight and post the dimensions here.

You'll also need to make the inside 'lip' with a router or backsaw. They aren't just a slab. You'll need to make the brass bolt holes as well. That's why they cost money.Real walnut ain't cheap.

I've never seen one, so I could be totally out to lunch, but I would think that the lip could made with a table saw and a dado kit too... if you are very very careful.

If the OP actually wants real walnut (I would probably go for a veneer!) he might have good luck shopping at a used lumber place. They exist!

I re-purposed an old crosley stereo/record player console yesterday for the wood to make the cover,I need to refinish the BV completely anyway, she was pretty gouged up when I got her,if professionally done it would get new veneer but I think I'm going to get it as nice as I can on the sandjob and use a product called smoothie to fill in the deep spots then stain and use tung oil instead of lacquer

Some walnut 'wax' will fill most gouges if they aren't too deep.Howards 'Restore-a-Finish' and 0000 steel wool is not only easier to do than tung oil,but IMHO looks better.
Most resellers and retailers have used Howards for 50 years.......it just spreads around and shines up the existing finish.Water stains?Gone.....Scratches?Gone.....you'll have'er
done in a day!Use the underside of the fallboard for reference in your color matching.Been there.....done that.
