    Need information about "Pedalion Company"

Greetings from Germany to all of you!

I´m an organist from Germany and now very proud of my "new" Pedalion reed organ. (2MP, 7 sets of reeds)
I searched the whole internet, but there´s nothing to find about this company.
Does anybody know where I can get information about this reed organ or the company?

I owned an old Johannus before, but I like the tone of the Pedalion much more. When playing, the feeling
is like on the pipe organ I play on sundays. (Steinmann 2MP 24 stops, all mechanical)

It would be nice, if somebody could help.

    Welcome to the organ forum,
I have seen some pics of pedalions on flickr.
Have you got some pics of your pedalion?
    Would be highly appreciated.
    At least by me....

    P.S.: Herzlich willkommen.
Habe meine Johannus verschrottet nachdem ich meine Liebe zu American reed organs entdeckt habe!

    LG

Apparently, Van den Burg co. which manufactured the Pedalion Organs, was in business until 1968. So it could be a rather "modern" reed organ.

Good Morning at all! Und Guten Morgen an Jule!

@Jule: Mir ging es genauso! Über die Johannus freut sich jetzt ein anderer.

It´s good to know that Van den Burg was the manufacturer of this organ. Next week i´ll drive to Dieren in Holland to visit Mr. Huivenaar, who is a famous reed organ restorer in NL.

The Pedalion is now located in my garage because there was a lot to fix. The felt gaskets
nearly all disappeared..... I think the moths are still chomping....

I´ll try to make some photos this afernoon.

    The specification is as follows:

    Great (I): Cello 16´ , Diapason 8´, Dolce 8´(der.) , Coupler Super I/I, Manualcoupler
    Swell(II): Gamba 8´, Salicional 8´(der.), Clairon 4´
    Pedals : Subbaß 16´, Bombarde 8´, Choralbaß 4´

Although it has only a few sets of reeds the sound is MUCH more impressive
than the Johannus. And the feeling is really the same as on "my" pipe organ
    that you can find here:http://de.organindex.org/index.php?t..._Apostelkirche

If my friend Louis H can't help you, nobody can. He is a great restorer and a great person.

Good morning at all reed organ fanatics!

@Casey: When I meet him - shall I greet him from you?

Here are the first two pictures of the Pedalion. It´s in rather good condition and
I love it more every day. Yesterday the music director of our local church visited me.
He was very attired in the organ and played about half an hour.

    Greetings from Germany

    Send him my best wishes.
And your instrument looks to be in great physical condition; clean, lovely woodwork.
I think it is a student's practice instrument from the thin but useful stoplist (except the very admirable pedal division! WOW!)

The stoplist in fact is quite thin, but the individual stops are really beatiful. The Cello 16´
is my favourite. When its combined with the Diapason an the Octavecoupler it sounds like
16+8+4+2! The Pedal division is ok, but unfortunately there´s no pedalcoupler...
Another beatiful combination ist the Salicional coupled with the Dolce from the great.
This registration sounds like a "flute harmonique", wenn the swell(s) are closed....

The case was quite dusty and full of nicotine. My uncle (carpenter/master) washed it up
and waxed it. Now the instrument got back its nice dark brown colour.

I will send you photos when i´m back from Holland. Fortunately it´s only 65km away...
