    Blackpool Style Playing

I was curious as how to do blackpool-style theatre organ playing, if anyone could offer any tips that would be greatly appreciated.

Buy yourself the Miditzer 260 perhaps. That has the 'Blackpool couplers' built in for that particular distinctive sound.

You'll need a very rhythmic left hand to pop in those staccato chords in the accompaniment for the fast numbers, and an energetic pair of feet to play a few pedal arpeggios. Watching a few videos of people like Phil Kelsall, Nicholas Martin and Robert Wolfe wouldn't go amiss.

Me, I love all sorts of organ playing but this style is not among my favourites. Can I do it? Sure, and have done so when requested but it's not something I make a habit of! But, each to their own and the style has thousands of devotees.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
