    Value of Connsonata Model 2-E?

My grandma is looking to either sell or donate her Connsonata 2-E as soon as possible. I haven't been able to find any information as to what its value would be for either selling or tax write-off purposes. To my untrained ear, it appears to be in desperate need of a tuning (if you can tune these, I have no idea) and one of the keys is cracked off but she has the piece and I believe it can be reglued or repaired. There is some cosmetic damage (nicks, scratches and the speaker cover is torn), but she also has the foot board. I have lots of pictures of it inside and out and even have a video of her playing it so that someone much more qualified than me can make an accurate assessment. It is located on the first floor of my grandma's house, about 12 miles south of downtown Chicago. She's more interested in finding a good home for it with someone or an organization that could most appreciate and enjoy it versus selling it...but to know its worth (if any) for tax purposes for her would be great, too. Any direction that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Cristin

Here's a thread with a reply from someone who knows very well. Unfortunately the cash value is close to nothing. Your best choice is probably to give it away.

    Cristin,

This 60 year old relic actually has a negative value:

    Actual Cash Value = $0.000

less the cost of carting it away = -$300.00

Your best bet is to offer it free on this forum for anyone who is willing to pick it up and cart it away for you. This instrument was probably the very best sounding organ of the era; and still has "value" for someone on this forum, willing to invest time, effort, and a lot of $$$ to restore one of the great instruments of the past.
