contrary to popular belief, Hammond organs of the preferred vintage are not rare, only durable and awesome, Northern Hammonds and Solovox's were built in my home town and there are always Hammonds available for a good price with patience. In Quebec it seems Leslies go cheap.....go figure.
I don't use percussion that much unless playing certain leads on songs but I would miss it.
M3 or M100 is an obtainable entry level Hammond in most of North America, L100 and T organs are plentiful, i/I have no opinions on a T series as I never played one, an L makes a great rock organ, and a mint A100 is 2 hours from me for $900 OBO, rest of the world.....not so much........Joe......btw just my opinion
M100 has an excellent and unique bright sound, vibrato and nice reverb, just the keys suck
E100 are A great cost effect entry level console, I miss mine but it went to another Hammond freak with my M111
1956 M3, 130 custom leslie, 51 Leslie, 860 Leslie with Preamp, S08 Yamaha and K2000S, Young Chang 85 key spinet and Korg SV-1 73 less Hammonds, downsized they found a good home

I was checking locally for 6v6gt tubes. I found a music store that has a matched set of Groove Tube 6v6's for $33. I was told these have "medium breakup" for when they start to distort. I know how it applies toward a guitar amp, but what is most desirable for an M100 regarding when the tube starts to distort?

your not going to get break up with those 6v6's in the AO-29,quite honestly it does not matter what brand or if there matched or not(as long as there not chinese),if you want to get some breakup/overdrive use effect pedals in place of the reverb tank this way you can switch the sound in and out with the reverb I-II tabs, those little AO-44 reverb amps are great and are voiced for the organ unlike a guitar amp, just get two rca to 1/4" adapters

Have you thought about offering thrift-store-guy $15 for the used 6V6s in the model M?

You might also want to call local guitar shops, you should be able to find some locally that would save shipping.

Haha... good idea ^^^ I was going to suggest this as well. Of course, TSG (thrift-store-guy) will probably want $50 a pop for them
I've got a fever..... and the only prescription is...... more Hammond organs

Hey Wes and Tdawg, that is a heck of a good idea. I don't know how much life those 6V6's have left in the"M" but for 10 bucks I'm willing to take a chance. If the TSG want's more, forget it. I'll just pay the $33 for brand new Groove Tubes that at least have some kind of a warranty. I wouldn't mind having the bench either.....and the reverb unit.....and ...

Thanks Wes, I'm all in favor of supporting those who help the community. What's nice about this TWG site is everything I need for now is easy to find and the prices are competitive. I'd much rather support these folks than a place like Guitar Center (kind of like the Walmarts of music equipment to me). Much appreciate the link!

Yeah, Rick at TWGH is very nice, went out of his way to help me get a part from a manufacturer. The only thing they don't seem to have are the 2-pin sockets for tremolo switches and crossovers. I've only seen those on BBOrgan but their site never works for me at all. Eventually I'll call them, but I hate calling.
    Keyboards: 1972 Fender Rhodes Stage 73, M-111, A-100, M2 Desk(!), B3!
    Spinny things: Wurlitzer Tone Cabs (500 and 420), PR-40, 31W, 31H, chopped 31H, 125 (empty cabinet), 30A!!!

You could always e-mail Rick, I bet he either has 'em or could point you in the right direction. Plus it's healthy for a business to know what their customers are looking for that they don't have..
