I sure hate to see a church sell or destroy an organ. It could be they have no organist or it would cost far too much for them to repair. Then on the other hand they may have decided to dispose of it due to the fact they have a wonderful praise band now, and the organist is out of a position. I know the nice church Baldwin that I have came from a church who decided they didn't want organ music anymore, but a praise band.

It would be nice to know the specs, and Paul J it is great you brought it to the attention of the forum.

I inquired about this organ a while back when it was listed a previous time. At that point they were asking $9k. It is a 6 rank Votteler-Holtkamp-Sparling organ from 1929.

Thanks for the info Randy, I'd guess they will leave it for a decoration if it's not bought, but I'll tell you in my opinion the organ is the music for church period end of story! I played in bands as a guitar player all through my 20's and 30's during the latter part of last century, but Jesus rock is the lamest music I've ever heard. The organ takes you places that a three,four, or five piece band could never take you, but tell that to Joe public.

Is there anything else you can tell us about the organ? At six ranks I'm guessing unit action, do you remember the base ranks? I get to the Elyria area pretty often but would like the opinions of someone with personal knowledge of the instrument before I contact them. I'm guessing they have little, if any.

From what I know, the organ had water damage and has a number of ciphers. The blower is a newer Schantz Zephyr unit. The stop list is as follows:
