That was just standard practice back then.
With all the work I've done in 31H Type 2s, the same question always floated around in my head: How do they get away with that bundle of wires going right up the middle? Everything is in there - heaters, jumpers, output transformer primary. Nothing is twisted, it's all just lying straight together. How did they pull that off?
