    Allen ADC 4500 organ

    Hey folks,

Still somewhat new to these forums, so please bear with a newbie.

I am currently looking at several different organs to purchase as soon as possible.

I have come across this organ for what I think is a good price, $5000. I gather that being an older organ (though I am told it is in good condition, all works) it is not as valuable as they appear to be listed.

I think I would like to make an offer for it, but am struggling with wether it is $5000 worthy or less.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (this is for my wife's birthday, so want to make a goode choice, can't afford a new one).

    Thanks
    Jim

    Jim,

That's a bit high for an organ that old. If it had MIDI, a MIDI Ensemble, and a double set of speakers, then it might be worth close to what they're asking. Hope that helps.

It definitely is an older organ. Also, it is a theatre organ, and your wife may want a classical organ instead. The organ definitely is not worth anywhere close to the asking price.

From what I can find, it's from the early years of the ADC line (first 4500 built in 1983).

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking the price is a bit high for its age.

I have found something else which I think hits the spot, a rodgers theater for under
$10K. In excellent condition, new batteries, under 15yrs old.

    This looks good.

    Jim,

I'm having a hard time seeing the Rodgers without any link or photos! There tend to be a lot of Rodgers Trios for sale, but I'm not sure that's what you're talking about. Some here like them, and some don't. Send a photo or link, and maybe someone here can help.

Sorry about that..newbie and all.. Its a Rodgers 360 under 15 yrs old, and an asking price of under $10K with shipping included... quick sale thing. Have seen same organ in excellent condisiton as this one is anywhere from $13k to $15K.

I looked at a photo I have gleaned from past searches. From the looks, it looks like a nice instrument. I hope your wife enjoys it!
