Mint Hammond M-101 $125 NICE! Massillon Ohio - akron-canton craigslist

I don't think you'll see a nicer Hammond M-101. The price is give-away! The M-101 is actually a bit more versatile than the M3 and look at - it's beautiful! Like it was frozen it time from the day they brought it in new.

Around Kansas City an M-101 would not bring $125.00. I bought my pristine M-101 on Ebay for $1.49 (that's one dollar and 49 cents) I was the only bidder. I had to pick it up in in Des Moines, Iowa. It is about 3 1/2 hours from me.
In the past year I have seen M-100's that looked nice enough sell for less than $40.00. I think in just the past week there was a free one. It might even still be listed. There are frequent free M, L, and M-100's in this area. So many that I hardly even notice anymore.
My keyboard treasures: Hammond organs: A-102, M3, Piper - Hammond tone cabinets: PR-40, JR-20 - Leslies: 251, 145, 60 rig - Fender Rhodes 73 suitcase piano, - Wurlitzer 200 electric piano, - 1968 Ampeg GS12-R Rocket II amplifier (fantastic with the wurli) - Roland RD-300SX digital piano, - Ampeg B100R bass amp (works well with the digital piano) - Fender SFX 200 keyboard amp, - Roland KCW-1 powered sub, - old school George Steck grand piano.

But the picture is of a T-212. Not M-100.

If you ever see a nice Hammond listed for that cheap PLEASE send them a note telling them to please screen their callers a little bit. The goal is to keep the organ going for years to come, not tare it apart and make a guitar amp out of the organ's amp and junk the organ. When an organ is priced below $100 it's an invitation for it to be treated with disregard to it's future. Some might think that building a guitar amp out of it is justifiable because it's at least keeping some part of the organ going. That's a crappy excuse for destroying a great musical instrument. We will never make another electromechanical organ like this again. In a couple hundred years all of the digital stuff will be in the dump, but if the M-100's are kept from the hackers they could conceivably keep on playing indefinitely with simple upkeep. Just because demand is lower than supply it doesn't mean the organs aren't worth saving. Some of the worst crusaders for organ preservation are organ players who think the only organs worth keeping around are B3's,C3's, and A100's. They continually make comments like the ones on this thread. Sure it's 'fact', but wouldn't it be better to talk the M-100's up so that when people land on these threads in searches they don't begin to think these organs aren't worth the trouble because they ARE worth it!

I didn't fall out of my chair or anything when I saw this, but isn't the point of this forum to occasionally post a good deal. $125 is a great deal for this organ even though there are other examples out there for less, this one looks new! This is NOT an everyday thing. However last year I paid $75 for a mint 58' pecan M3 with duet sixteen presets. I called on the second day of the listing. Now that is pathetic seeing how I know of 3 serious Hammond watchers/buyers in my community. It's as if the difference between a B3 and an M3 is likened to the differences between a Corvette and a Chevette, but it's more like an Olds and a Cadillac.
The electronic organ is the best bargain in musical instruments and it used to be the exact opposite. This leaves a ton of room for conjecture, but when it comes down to it $125 is a give away price for this M-101 in ANY state.

When the supply far exceeds the demand then things have no retail value.
    Last year I got a '58 M3, '61 M3, M-101 and a T-422 for a total investment of $100.
I know of two other M3s that I can have for free anytime I want to pick them up.
(And I let an E series get tossed out on the street as well).
The same is true of upright pianos. There are at least a dozen free pianos within a 100 mile radius of me.
Fine instruments they may be but they no longer have any monetary value in the US.
Even the pros are starting to abandon them. Most concerts I catch on TV feature guys playing the XK-3c.

My bad. I didn't realize the picture was a T not an M-100.
Although the M, L, and M-100 are currently very low price wise, I value them. I wouldn't consider myself "a worst crusader". I own an M-3 and an M-101 myself. I think my point is... that I do not agree that $125.00 for an M-100 is a give away price. The problem is the hidden cost of repairing and updating a 50 year old Hammond no matter how beautiful the cabinet. Overall it will cost about the same to get an M-100 fully up to speed as it would an A-100. Spending $500.00 on repairs and updates would be easy on either instrument. The difference is that an updated A-100 might go for $800.00 (or a lot more) and you would have a fantastic full console to play. An updated M-100 might go for $100.00....even after spending $500.00 for updates, and it would still be a spinet.

$125 is dinner and a movie for 2..........or an amazing Hammond organ that may or may not need extensive repair, mine has 3 clunking keys.......I can get for postage I am sure..........there is price and value........if I wasn't tripping over stuff there is a S6 and Extravoice that would be added to my collection.....the price asking $75..........the value.....working...you tell me?
1956 M3, 130 custom leslie, 51 Leslie, 860 Leslie with Preamp, S08 Yamaha and K2000S, Young Chang 85 key spinet and Korg SV-1 73 less Hammonds, downsized they found a good home

I know all about the tripping over stuff problem. My wife has me on a strict one in one out rule.
