Nice playing and unbelievably good audio from a phone cam!

You can probably tell by the video, but the organ is in a kind of niche behind the altar. The speakers are level with the altar. So the organ is behind the speakers which also face away from the organ. It makes judging volume from the pews quite difficult. I've gotten complaints a couple times about it being too loud during hymns. But then I just figure they're not singing loud enough.

I have to say that I am quite surprised that those are recorded on a mobile phone ! That is really good quality. I guess I am technologically behind the times by a good number of years. I had no idea that a phone could do that. Of course, I only use mine for talking on , and don't even like for people to Text me.

Without you pointing it out, I really could not tell there is a wall behind you. That is not a problem though, since it looks like you have enough room to your right side to put the stand there to get the camera ( Phone , I mean ) up higher. I don't actually put mine behind me so much as get it up high enough to get the down angle.

I always figure that if a couple of people don't complain now and then about being too loud, then I am not playing loud enough.

Looking forward to more videos. Regards, Larry

Maybe I'll get there early tonight and record a couple. If I don't make too many mistakes! I'll have all the kids with me so it might be kinda noisy.

Here's a link to the Rheinberger trio #3. Hopefully by the time you click it, the trimming has finalized and you don't have to see through the camera positioning.

I think I like this angle quite a bit more than the others.

Hi Tutti, Very nice playing ! Yes, I think that is much better placement than the other videos. I would still like to see ( and I think others as well ) even a higher perspective though. That is about level with the keys now. I know you are playing all the notes, but that angle makes it hard to see you using the black keys.

Hope to see more vids, Regards, Larry

I'll see what I can do. I used a music stand to hold the camera. It's as high as it can go. Maybe I can put something beneath the music stand to raise it though. Like hymnals? Haha. I'm HOPING to record an original today. Might not have it worked up well enough though.

OK here's two more with one hymnal thickness of height added to the music stand supporting the phone.

Which brings us to the big question -- how the heck did my audio and video get so out of sync???

Hi Tutti, I have no idea how your video and audio is getting so out of sync. Might it be a You Tube issue ? I just watched the A Mighty Fortress vid and it shows up in black and white for me. I'll bet you did not record it that way ? YT is having a bad night maybe ?

    Regards, Larry

Since the audio was so out of sync I messed with the video settings for fun. It's out of sync on my phone, so it's not YT. If I can re-record it in one take today (without too many flubs!) I'll put up another version. This is the only video that is out of sync, so hopefully it was a fluke.
