Wurlitzer 4410 for sale Clist- Newark Ohio

Here's the link to the ad. PLEASE lets keep this away from 'amp builders' -- I already warned them to watch out.
I have a 4410 and I must say it is the most powerfully rich tone and if you have external Leslie's or Spectratone ( Wurlitzer) cabs it would be perfect for any home or church. It's got 16' 8' 4' as well as mutations ( fractional pitches). It has a pure tone, but also can introduce reed. There is an ATTACK tab on the 4410, as it is a free reed organ. (Google 'Wurlitzer 4600 series organs' for an excellent website article completely explaining the Wurlitzer electrostatic reed design) also google ' Ken Griffin Wurlitzer Electrostatic reed organ ' for a great 4 song album of the ES reed ( probably a 4600 free reed...remember free reeds have instant attack, so the 4410 is great for popular standards too. The 'keyed ree' organs only introduce air when the key is pressed, free reeds are always 'on' because they continuously blow.
Looking at the image it looks exactly like my organ, but be sure owner looks to be certain it is a 4410. These are great looking extremely well built organs. I can't see how anyone could ever think about scrapping one for the amp!

    Paul,

This Wurlitzer Organ is a Spinette Model 44 which was the first spinet type organ that Wurlitzer made. I have seen and played them a few times as well as had one in my home for awhile. The tech I worked with brought it out to the house for me to thump on, and decide if I wanted him to restore it. Even the cabinet was in a bad shape, and it had many problems so I decided not to go ahead with restoring it.

If all works as the ad reads then it is a very nice organ. I do wish I had one, and the model 44 has a 16' in the lower manual. They make excellent church organs without any vibrato being used. I think $200.00 for something this old is plenty to offer the owner maybe less. I would sure buy it if I was in that area.

You're right...forgot-44 has no ATTACK or Sustain I & II on lower right. So is a 44 a Free-Reed?? No ATTACK would tend to make it a keyed reed, but it looks identical to my 4410. BTW the 8' lowest octave is = to 16' lowest octave on upper manual. Sure it might be nice having that lower 16', but I actually love the ATTACK & SUSTAIN I & II.

    Paul,

It is a Free reed ES Wurlitzer organ. It first came on the market in 1953. The console models at that time was the 4600 and 4601, and 4602.

When playing hymns on the lower manual as a typical pipe organist does on the Great, the 16' stop adds that pitch such as can be done in a pipe organ, or the same as in many pipe organs a Sub Octave coupler.

The 4410 has those Attack and Sustain tabs. Also there are other stop changes as well as the cabinets were designed differently.
