    Parting out Conn 580

I hate to do this since I was hoping to fix it, but I am going to be parting out a Conn 580 in West Chester, PA, USA. I am willing to ship parts.

This needs to be out by Sunday night. I'm expecting a "new" arrival Saturday morning so I need some room! But until it's here, I don't count on it.

I am keeping the Leslie from inside this unit and the 9 pin connector, willing to let anything else go. That's really the only thing truly keeping me from trying to give the entire organ away for free.

Prices? I'll charge for shipping of course. If anything is a real hassle to get out, I'll charge for my time, but that won't be much. If you have a price in mind for anything, let me know. It shouldn't be much, as long as it's a friendly transaction and doesn't cause me to rip my hair out. I am willing to do some work, though.

The tibias don't work, a few other things don't work, and the general sound of the organ isnt' so great. The cabinet is is good shape. One key is broken.

    Thanks for looking.

What would you have in mind for shipping the amp chassisto zip code 34983. I've got a 580 that doesn't produce alot of sound on the solo manual so I'd like to consider having a spare? I'd also be interested in the lamps in the fallboard. They are not difficult to strip out. I've done it a number of times.

Regarding the keys, I have a ton from someparted theaterettes, but I'd advise you do hold onto a least a few for future use because anytime you buy a Conn the number one fault is broken keys.

(I shipped a small set one octave and duplicates for the keys that the organists named as broken and the shipping to Australia was $50 postage so I'd advise you to stick to US transactions that can be handled in flat rate postal priority boxes whenever possible.

Organs, I just sent you a private message.

I was hoping to go with a flat rate postage as much as possible just to keep it simple.

As for price, I assume the amp chassis will be very simple to take out, so I would want $10 (ten dollars) on top of the postage cost, simply to cover make it a bit worth my while to deal with packing and a trip to the post office.

I have no intention of getting another Conn. I will most likely be sticking to Hammond organs. Keeping keys around would be a waste for me.

Hi, Joe. Wanted to recirculate this post in case anyone missed it before. I'm sure there must be someone out there who needs keys!

Thanks. I hope to get your amp out today.

The keys did not make it out to the trash, as well as some other pieces. The organ is pretty dismantled with a few parts in my garage. (Wife gonna be bummed.) So maybe somebody still wants something. Parts would be cheap, shipping plus a small fee to make it worth me packing it up and running to post office.
