    thomas californian 281 pedals..

a friend has a thomas californian 281 organ that he knows nothing about. he asked me how to activate the bass pedals. i looked at it, and see the stops, volume control, etc, for the bass notes, but cant seem to get the pedals to activate. maybe as simple as cleaning some contacts? if anyone has any experience with this model, please help! thanks..

Apart from the obvious things you seem to have covered, like selecting some bass stops, turning up the volume etc, you might also like to check that whatever 'Automatic Bass' functions the 281 has (Fancy Foot, I think they called it) isn't turned on and therefore disabling the pedals themselves.</p>

It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
