Yamaha FS-70 No audio from internal speakers but works fine through aux out jacks.

Hi Folks. Our FS-70 works perfectly if using the aux outs to an external ampifier/speaker system but has no audio out of the internal speakers.

Well, actually, after fiddling around for a bit inside, checking fuses etc and trying to wire trace back to the audio jacks, the main two registers now work on the internal speakers but the pedals and little register on top still don't work.

So a series of questions here.

    1. Any ideas
    2. Is there a master reset procedure.
    3. Should the aux inputs provide sound to the internal PA's if fed with an external audio source such as a cassette deck etc. (cause right now it doesn't)
    4. Phsically where are the audio amps in this thing.

I was a technician by trade in the air force so I'm OK with tinkering inside.

    Thanks in advance folks.

    John

    Hi John,fficeffice" />>>

I bought a dead FS30 for AU$50. It had suffered a major power surge or lightning strikeand needed a lot of work. With the help ofa dedicated and generous forum member it is now working with the exception of the tremolo and symphonic effects. Given time I will get on top of this also. Just a bit busy with other things right now. But it is sounding just great as it is, using some of my external ampsandLeslie 705.>>

    Now to your questions:>>

The FS30 has a master reset procedure by holding the BREAK button during power up. This may be different on your FS70. If you don’t have an owner’s manual - go to the Australian Yamaha Music website and it is there for you as a PDF for free.>>

The AUX input of my FS30 is amplified through the organs internal amps. It looks like you have a problem with your amps.

The audio amps of the FS30 are mounted on the bottom shelf of the organ. Easily recognized by the heat sinks keeping the Trannies cool. The FS30 has a stereo amp for the left and right channels and a mono amp for the centre channel.>>

Just looking at the Electone specs I believe the FS30 and FS70 have a lot in common - except for the 3rd keyboard. I have the FS-20/30 Service Manual and the FS-FX series Servicing Guide as scans. Send me a private message.>>

Thanks Skippy. I have made a little progress and am now suspecting the 2 second delay relay assembly although I haven't ruled out the main 90 watt PA. The other 2 PA's are working fine. Need to spend a little more time at it yet.
