Well, to my knowledge the organ may be no more - but I took the few things that I could gather in a short time. It's a shame that some of these things have such a limited timeframe before it's too late.
I was curious if anyone is able to comment on Smith / Geneva pipework as far as the quality or desirability. I am aware of an organ in the Chicago area that may be scrapped sometime next week if it isn't removed. I wasn't aware of the deadline until earlier today. The organ is presently installed in a church, but likely it was originally a theatre organ. Complete with 2m horseshoe console and 3HP Spencer blower (has a problem).
The rank list from an organ builder's assessment is (9 rank, 23 stop, around 6" WP):
8' Open Diapason
8' Dulciana
8' Violin Diapason
8' Clarabella
8' Gamba
8' Stopped Diapason
8' Gamba Celesta (T.C.)
8' Orchestral Oboe
16' Pedal Bourdon
Hoyt metal with zinc basses.
I am going to be acquiring a Barton 4 rank ("converted to church organ" - diapason, tibia, trumpet, salicional) and I don't have tons of extra space right now, but I was curious if any of the above pipework might make a nice addition to round out the 4 barton ranks? For that matter, if someone is interested in this organ or any parts and can get to the Chicago area in time to save it, I can provide more information. I'd just hate to see it scrapped if anything is worth saving.
