Any easy way to tell if your drawbars are 'continuous contact' smoothies is to locate the drawbar contact spring retainer. It will have the signal wire soldered to it.

Like Andy G, I'm in the 147 camp. Also like 122 types. Juan is right, certain single speed models also sound great, like the 22h and 47.Leslie 51 also has the 'classic' 6550 tubes and circuit....

I had the same problem in a 147 with some 6550 'Groove Tubes'
The diameter of the actual tube pins is thinner than OEM.
Even tried some 'retainers', still sounded awful.

Not many of us still dragging the full consoles out to gigs. I use the A100 25-35 gigs a year. That represents 50% of my gigs on average. I make do with the Nord the rest of the time.
