Hey Guys, first post! I came across a Farfisa Professional 222 for around $399. The seller just said it was from the '60s.

My questions is, the sound I am going for is Ray Manzarek of The Doors. Will this do it justice/get similar tones?

I know he played a Vox Continental and a Gibson G101, but both are hard to find and quite expensive.

What do you guys think?

This weekend I got my Farfisa Compact Duo 99.5% working thanks to some people here, especially David Anderson (who has restored the same organ and has carefully documented his findings in helpful Word documents) and the guys over on Combo Organ Yahoogroups. I just need one germanium transistor now which should arrive this week.

These organs are a totally different ball game compared with Hammonds which are my comfort zone when it comes to vintage gear. There are virtually no resources available for these organs compared with Hammonds and I am really grateful for the help from David, Geo and Indianjo.

If we get a "samples" section on this forum at some point, I'd be happy to post up some typical Farfisa registration samples for people to use on their samplers.

Thanks again for all your help

Dave

PS There were several "running changes" in my organ which I think might be even older than Davids. Holes for vibrato adjustment are missing and one of the boards has a different designation number.

G201 Bass Pedal pictures and dimensions? Expression Pedal Too

Hi,

I have a G201 in the process of rebuild which came to me without the pedals, bith Bas and Expression. I've seen the pictures on the Combo organ website and they are helpful but lack dimensions or size context. Lowrey T2 is nearly identical, if that helps. And other combo organs may have similar or identical parts. I'm open to all help and suggestions

I'd like to either find these two pieces for my organ, but don't really have much hope of that happening. I have the ability to re-create them if I can get enough pictures, dimensions and details. Even basic length width height of the Bass keys baseplate would be useful. Since it's angled, what is the thick and thin dimension? What is the size of the expression pedal itself?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers, Roger
