Could I suggest that when someone posts a question with an ambiguous title like Just Asking or Curious About Something or How does it work that we adapt a letter-code to make the subject apparent when the title is in the Active Listing box?

I don't like having to navigate to a new page only to find that the question had to do with a totally different style of music.

How about:

CE: for Classical, Church electronic organs

PO: for Classical, Church, Concert Pipe Organs

H: for Hammond, Home

T: for theatre organs

E: Electronic components, midi

4S: For sale.

R: Reed organs

O: Other

L: liturgical/church music

SM: Sheet music and books

BIO: About a musician (Fox, Biggs, Mozart, whoever)

What do you think, Admin? Did I miss any categories

Thanks Rob. Let's see if the admin decides to accept it. I was thinking that for self-explanatory posts like Flentrops in Philadelphia or B3 Restoration tips the preface letters would not be necessary. What do you think?

That's a very good idea, but I'm afraid that the people who would have posted a vague title would probably not use these handy guides. The key is to use a good title; however, that takes premeditation. We can be hopeful, though.

A perfectly reasonable suggestion that has almost no practical possibility of working because it relies on the poster, who is already not being specific about his topic, to remember how to code it. I suppose, some sort of software modification could automatically tag the topic when it was posted based on where it was posted, but this scheme would quickly fall apart if the post were moved.

Using the shortcut boxes, found to the right of the page, to navigate the Forum does not work if you're interested only in specific topics. Their purpose is to give a global snapshot of Forum activity.

I wrote a lengthy post on how to set up your personal version of the Forum here http://organforum.com/forums/permalink/75929/76103/ShowThread.aspx#76103
