Hi all,

I'm moving to a town called Gonzales. It's between New Orleans and Baton Rouge ... but closer to Baton Rouge. Looking for a church that needs an organist. First 3 months would be every other Sunday as I'll be going back and forth. After that, could be full time if it's working out. Several years of experience, good references if requested.

If you know any churches that are looking I'll be available after 2/1/09. Jmace100 @ aol.com is the e-mail (remove the spaces). Make sure the subject is obvious b/c a lot of mail comes through there. I'll travel up to 45 minutes (which will get me to New Orleans).

Thanks!

I just 'flew' over Gonzales in Google Earth. It looks like there is a fair sprinkling of churches there.

If you are not a member of the AGO now might be a good time to join - the local chapter might have some resources such as a newsletter with job listings.

Good luck with your move.

I used to be but I received no benefit from it. It may have been that my chapter was just not very active ... but I felt like I might as well burn the money. So I'm not terribly inclined to try again when money's tight.

I'll probably just start asking around once I'm down there. Usually churches are (at least) vaguely aware of how things are going at each others' locations.

Something very curious is happening in this thread - multiple posts, nearly identical. [*-)]

Bombarde32, are you having a computer glitch?

Anyway... yes, Google Earth is really cool. Not only is it fun, it is very instructional, such as when I looked at your town and saw all the churches. When you click on the churches you can open up a webpage (if they have one) and/or a phone number. It should help you in your job search! [:)]

I'm so sorry!!!! Everytime I hit the space bar I got a flicker on the screen. Apparently it was posting whatever I had finished typing at the time I hit space.

Oh well. That's one way to get back in the top 10 contributor list .... [:$]
