I stumbled across a wonderful website. Maybe many of you know/knew about it, but it was new to me.
http://theatreorgans.com/southerncross/Radiogram/USAfiles.htm

The site has a host of old recordings converted to wma on some of the most famous theatre organs of all times.

There is an original recording on the Kimball at the Roxy - the only known recording of the house organ.
Also the Roxy lobby and studio Kimballs.

These are obviously old transcriptions (ETs) done in the heyday of the instruments. There's a recording of the 4/34 Fisher Theatre organ - Detroit (long since removed and in the Senate) in its original Fisher home.

Just thought I mention it in case some of you, like me, were unaware of these treasures.

Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you have enjoyed the Virtual Radiogram.

The URL you have quoted takes you only to the USA recordings. If you go through

http://theatreorgans.com/southerncross/Radiogram/radiogramtitle.htm

you will find many recordings of British and Australian theatre organs as well.

The recordings in my archives come from various sources - 78rpm discs, transcriptions, off-air acetate discs, tapes, etc.

Thanks for sharing this great site. I went there and couldn't believe what a traesure trove it is. I'll be spending a great deal of time there. The pictures are excellent also.
Thanks again, BoB

Thanks for the wonderful treat. The Roxy Kimball was of particular interest. What a pity no recordings of all 3 consoles playing similarly. Can you imagine 3 organists playing with the 110 piece Roxy Orchestra? Sic transit gloria mundi!

Thanks for the Australian recordings. The State Theatre Wurli in Sydney was of great interest as I had the opportunity of playing it when I was shown around the cinema during a visit to Australia in 1977.Carry on the good work!
