Hi there, this was just posted on the http://www.siago.org website for the Southern Indiana chapter of the American Guild of Organists. It is quite an interesting organ/space so I am posting it here as well.

To paraphrase Smoky Robinson, "I second your emoticon."[:P][:P]

And, to be honest, I've never played or heard a Holtkamp organ that I thought was much good.

Since when is conducting four choirs and being the organist considered a part-time job?!

Unbelieveable.

We're in complete agreement. As salaries drop, organists and choir directors continue to abandon the profession. I suspect a number of them are members of this Forum.

Full-time quality music can't thrive--doesn't deserve to thrive--with a part-time attitude and punypaycheck. The money being offered to organists in some recent job postingsis downright insulting.

This is acritical issue worthy of a separate thread.
