Stuck bass buttons

I have a Neronde Electric FloTone, 120 bass. Two of the bass buttons stick and don't come up until I take off the back panel and push the metal rods up. Any tip on how to stop this problem?

Sounds as if a sugar-laden drink may have been spilled, and found its way into the articulating surfaces of the mechanism.

Cleaning the effected areas with a Q tip with liberal amounts of water and blotters to soak up the offending substance might offer a good start.

the metal rods may bend . look closelely and if it is bent use gentle pliers to straighten it :)
