Hello,I just bought a leslie 145 on ebay #7365307052 and it didn't have the backboard center and i think it can make for a tighter bass having the center board there.I found out at the age determination site that this one from mid 67 should have a serial number in the 65000's.So i'm going to try to find one in the 65000's serial.

Are you saying that the entire centre backboard is missing? It's pretty essential. Have you thought about making one? might be cheaper than buying one (if you can actually find one).

If you go this route, you'll need to make sure that the wood/chipboard/MDF that you use is thick enough - 3/4", and remember to cut the holes in the back panel. The big one is 5" wide x 2 1/2" high, and it's located in the bottom left hand corner, 6" in from the left and 5" from the bottom. The smaller one is 5" wide x 3/8" high, and is directly above the large one, 6" in from the left and 5" down from the top of the panel. The corners on both holes are rounded.

All you need to do then is drill the holes for the bolts. You could always take one of the bolts from the top or lower backboards in to your local hardware store and get some to match.

Incidentally, mMy 145 (s/no 14455, 1973) had a wood back panel but my current wlanut 760 (also 1973) has a chipboard back panel. There are arguments around about whether or not it makes a difference. I don't think so.

I hope you have luck in finding a genuine one, but if not, I hope this info may help.
