I heard on today's news that an anonymous alumnus gave the Yale School of Music $100 million. I think the intended use is free tuition for at least this year's students. Hopefully it goes a bit further than that. Maybe the SOM can use a small piece for some extra repairs on the university's instruments. Heck, with that much, they could build a new building and move the Newberry Organ to it - a few times!

I hope they use the Gazillion $$ to acutally purchase a choral deparment. How can a school like that have such a HORRIBLE choral program? I mean with the ISM there they should be turning out Choral Gods right and left. I've NEVER EVER seen anyone from Yale conducting that I've even come close to being impressed with. The few I have dealt with apparently have never acutaly sung in a real choir or even heard one. What is up with that?

becuase they are ALL so F#$king bad!!
But really, belive me about the Yale Choirs being BAaaaaaaddddddd. I remember rehearsing the Mahler "Symphony of a Thousand" Choral parts as part of an audition. It was like conducting a wall of vomit. If that program were a horse, they'd shoot it.
Why, with all the rescourses of the ISM can they suck soo badly? Just doesnt' make sense.
