I often see organs for free in the local c-list, and I know of some hammond models that are discussed here, but what about the baldwin/lowry/conn stuff, anyone ever compile a list of models with leslies? I know the Yamaha organs used a different type of rotating speaker. The roto sonic stuff would also be less desirable. I need more leslie parts to feed my addiction.

I'd ask for pics of the organs from the sellers...the left hand side of the organ should have a rectangular "vent" similar to the one on this Kimball if there's a Leslie present . Hopefully this helps. :-)

Wurlitzer used their own BIZARRE version of a Leslie called the "spectratone" here's a link to pics right here on The Organ Forum http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz330/Druish66/DSCN1271.jpg

What's bizarre about the Spectratone? Two speakers in a bean-can, rotary transformer. I was thinking about it last night, bit more interesting than a Leslie actually. Especially when you throw in the solenoid to modulate the other speakers :-B OK, yeah it's pretty bizarre hehe (a list of organs with Spectratones would be nice too, I'd love to have a few more)
I picked up an internal Leslie on CL the other day. 50 bucks, it had a 2-speed motor, the guy got it on eBay and thought it was from an actual cabinet.
Don't T-xxx's have internals?

Almost got a Wurli yesterday ..Our local Salvation Army had a "Fun Maker" (think that's the model) for fifty bucks...It worked but had a stuck key...highest octave,,Gave everything that came out of it a nice high pitched drone!! LOL!! Alas when i arrived it was gone!! SADNESS!!! In it's place they had a Sears (not a Silvertone) organ with a broken swell pedal for fifty...PASS!!!! I believe i'm AFFLICTED with the DREADED O.A.S.!!! :P p.s. yes the Hammond T series did have internals in certain models.

Have you tried a wah pedal yet? You can actually get something close to a Leslie sound if you're careful with your foot.

That sucks. I got lucky when I got my Vox Clyde McCoy, they discontinued it like a week later. Worked out nicely for me, it means my guitar chain is all gear you can't get anymore. I got a Fender Squier 60th Anniversary Strat, the Clyde McCoy (sounds better than the Dunlops I've heard), and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Texas Red edition with Celestion speaker (800 made). Add to that my dad's Fender Rhodes 73, our A-100, our 31s, and I've got quite the vintage/awesome-stuff collection hehe
Sorry, I'm really proud of my collection :embarrassed:

Virtually everything pre-1986 is in here, at least with a thumbnail of features.
