Quick question,
I am at church on a hammond cv with a leslie 122a. It had worked fine w/o any problems, but now it will not spin. Sound comes thru though. The leslie connection seems secure, and I can hear the "click" when the leslie switch is flipped, but no spin. I took off the back of the organ to check the leslie connection kit and I see three wires: black, red, and yellow. Both the red and black are connected, but the yellow is not. Is this the problem?

I hope i'm not stating the obvious here, but are the motors plugged into the amp?

I'd wait for someone who's worked on 122A's before proceeding, admittedly I don't know much about their operation.

Be careful poking around the back of the organ - high voltages may be exposed.

Yes, the motors are plugged in. I jiggled the leslie cable at the end where it connects to the leslie and it started making a popping noise, leading me to believe that the cable has a short in it. By why would that prevent the rotors from spinning when everything else seems to work?

It's always beneficial to (gently and safely) re-tension and clean female Leslie sockets with everything off and unplugged. Any "no-residue / safe on plastics" electronics contact cleaner will work.

Your description of the insides of the organ are vague at best...take a picture if you can before proceeding.
If you can hear the Leslie amp relay click on or off I'd suspect there is a break in the AC lines to the motors inside the amp chassis, or a gummed up relay is suspect. A multimeter will help solve the problem, but in skilled hands only please!

I believe that leslie model (A) has a speed control circuit board mounted on the inside of the middle section of the Leslie. Check that circuit and look for anyfuses on that circuit board that could have blown
