Just got a 147 to pair up with my 145. (ordered the power relay yesterday :o)

Problem:
I use a preamp pedal- 1/4 inch out of my XK-3c into the pedal- 6 pin out to 145.
When I plug my pedal into my new 147- it doesn't change speed- stays on slow. It plays, just won't change speed.

side note: when directly plugged into my C2, the 147 changes speed no problem (controlled by a half moon switch)

side question- what's the extra "cylinder" on the amp in the 147? in the 145, there's just tape over that hole- a capacitor? what's it do?

Thanks in advance.
Jay

Forget the power relay for now.

Try both Leslies - one at a time - with your organ. Use the same cable. See if switching works for both.

Then try both Leslies - one at a time - with the pre-amp pedal. Use the same cable. See if switching works for both.

Report results.

Also please show photos of the Leslie amps so we can sort out what the "cylinder" is. It could be the filter capacitor can but we need to be sure. If there is tape over the socket, and the amp still works, this could mean that the capacitor can was replaced with capacitors inder the chassis.

I also believe that if an amp was retrofitted with a solid-state relay, there may be problems with using the combo pre-amp (something to do with the neon indicator lamp in the pedal). But before we go there try the tests just to make sure both Leslies work with the switching from the organ.
