Hello:

I'm looking at a Leslie currently which has had some modifications done to it. The amp says "32H Series III" on it, but it looks like the cab has had 2 speed motors added to it. I'll see if I can get some pictures up so that everyone can see it.

Does anyone have any experience with these? How do they compare to a 6550 based 122?

That's a very good amp. You don't say what model the Leslie is, so it's hard to tell you what things should be there or not. I can tell it's an older model from the 1950's and the amp may be original to it and the motors are not. It looks as if the amp is modified internally for two speed operation based on the plug arrangement. My guess is that you could have a 21H with the later, more powerful amp. That amp was first used in the so called "Tall Boys", model 31H. It's designed for Hammond organs only with balanced input. The power and sound is close to the later amps with 6550's, just a little less power. You don't show the woofer but it is probably a field coil model unless that was modified also.
