So today I went to resolder a wire onto my drawbar, right? So, I heat up my soldering iron, touch it to the back side of the drawbar, and BOOM!! There was a little explosion, and now my bass foot pedals don't sound right. They make tone, but its VERY week.</p>

Does this stuff ever end?....

After you've fixed the organ a bunch of times and had 100% success you start to go "AHA! Another fun challenge!! Wonder what it might be this time?"</p>

instead of freaking out that your Ham might be broken and you've wasted a whole lot of money...</p>

</p>

EXCEPT I've only tampered with solid state stuff not tubes, so I don't know WHAT that was.</p>

Ohh! Maybe you <span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-decoration: underline;">HAVE</span> b**gered it !!!!!!!!!</p>

Imagine that!!</p>

LOL! ehh- I kind of feel freaked out right now. But, it's all right. I think I'm going to just rebuild all of it- all new caps, etc..

Wow, I'm a member of a club. I'm 2/3 the way through replacing all the electrolytic caps on my Hammond H182. I should be coasting home, right? Today I continued to wonder why the chorus tab didn't work, studied and studied the schematic, and finally tried putting the chorus and dual vibrato tabs down at the same time. Eureka- an amazingly weird warbling like those organs they make fun of at skating rinks, etc. Now, none of the other vibrato tabs work, except they decrease the volume to 1/10 of the non-vibrato volume. ?????

I fixed it- I had to replace the three resistors in the Bass Filter. The old resistors were WAY off!

Congratulations, Dboggs. I'm good again, I forced the sheet metal top off the tab switches with a crowbar (scary) and used half a can of contact cleaner spray on them. Now everything works differently- the "add vibrator" tab works on more than just the B top drawbar stop, the Echo only and Main + Echo tabs actually do something. What tipped me off was I got the vibrato volume back with the "add vibrato" tab halfway between up and down. Nothing wrong mechanically- apparently just a carbon track. Now if 2 more power supply caps that came in today will just get the 350 VAC off of the "100 VDC" line running to all the transistor pre-amps I can remove that nasty filthy used 450VDC 1 uf electolitic cap at the input of one transistor amp. Never satisfied, tinker, tinker, that's our club.
