    Posting a picture

    Hi there,

Can someone tell me how I can add pictures to my post? They're already saved on my desktop. I've never done this sort of thing before.

    Thanks!

    Re: Posting a picture

Well, in the post writing screen, there is an icon in the bar that looks like a picture of a tree, click on it and you should be able to figure it out from there.

Please explain a little more. I don't understand all the terminology.

    Re: Posting a picture

If I wanted to include a picture in my post, the first step (after finding the picture), is clicking on the icon that says "insert/edit image" (the one which looks like a tree, between the broken link of chain, and the goofy looking thing that is the content selector, its near the button for smilies), so I would click on the tree and get a dialog box to enter the url of a picture (I generally just copy that from the address bar) and then I might insert a description, and I might play with the alignment of the picture in relation to the text, I might also play with its size (when I play with the size I almost always keep the same ration of height and width) after that I would hit insert and be done with the picture.

I hope this clears it up for you.Smile

I might add that if the picture is already on the Internet, just right-click on it and select "Copy".

Then when you are composing your post, simply paste the picture in (keyboard shortcut control+v works well) and change the size as needed.

    Re: Posting a picture

Bummer...looks as if any pics I have on my hard drive cannot be uploaded to this message reply box for posting on this forum. I don't have any of my pics downloaded to online photo albums like Photobucket or Flickr or whatever they're called.

sorry, forgot to mention that, yes, the pictyres must be uploaded to the interweb, but you don't even have to use Flickr, photobucket or anything else, you can upload them to a gallery hosted at the forum.
