Before entering a new post, I try to search existing ones for keywords pertaining to my interest.  This forum, for all its many virtues, lacks the ability to search by keyword.  (At least it's not apparent to me.)

 Undoubtedly it would take some sophisticated programming, but a search option would sure help.

I'm not sure what you are asking for.  There is a search box in the upper right corner of each page.  You can limit your search to topic or group you are in if you like, or search the entire site.

If you click the Search button without entering any text in the search box, additional options are presented to you.

The search is typical word search.  A keyword search requires that keywords be assigned to the posts.  On this forum that facility exists as Tags.  You can add tags to any post, whether it is yours or someone elses, to help categorize individual posts.  You can then choose to search by Tag with the advanced search option.

I can't believe I hadn't spotted what you're talking about!  There is indeed a very good keyword search option within category.  True, it's not labeled "Search" but it doesn't have to be.  Sorry about the unnecessary suggestion!
