    Can You Believe It?

As a dramatic sequel to the "Worst Videos" thread, I offer the following:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeEa4IILmDc

0:45 onwards: amazingly familiar sound - St.Sulpice, Paris? I didn't know they'd installed a Bossa Nova rhythm switch there.

Funnily enough, I was lucky enough to hear Gerard Brooks play the Widor 6th Allegro at St.Sulpice a couple of years ago. It was truly magnificent.

Love it!  I didn't know that Yamaha had such fanttastique French organ sounds!  I must root around for one at my local rubbish dump!  Who knows I might even find a hammond organ plastique!!!1!!2!!!!

Digitialise them by pushing them off the top of the cellar steps!!!

Well, from the sound of his (?) voice, it appears to be a relatively young kid.  Cut him a break.  At least he could play whatever it was he was playing, although on YouTube, it's generally hard to tell :)

Perhaps one day he will have a bit better instrument ...

I get a little worried by the responses people have to him though.  I'm not saying just say 'you're a bad boy!', but jeeze...threatening to throw a kid in irons?  Even if he was an adult I'd be a bit shocked.

Isn't that a bit extreme?  Especially for a group of people that primarily play in CHURCHES?

'It isn't that difficult. All one has to do is press all the right keys at the right time and the organ plays itself.'
    Yeah RIGHT.

That video is clearly faked... he cannot play the Widor -it's all frankly a disaster and that "young kid" should never have posted it.  He deserves the negative reaction he got.  And this of course was Tumult's reason for bringing it to our attention in the first place.

Otherwise, other videos of him playing at Peterborough Cathedral -I've been there, I recognize that console- seem to give a much better idea of his young, though untrained, talent.  Better to watch those instead.

Yeh.  I thought some of the comments were a bit harsh.  I guess they come from supporters of Mick Huckabee rather than John McCain.  I have seen a lot worse of kids fooling around on YouTube.  I have to admit he did fool me for one nanosecond hearing Vierne AND seeing the mini-top manual....

There aren't enough Huckabee supporters to post that many mean comments.
First they came for the ABC consoles, then they came for the older consoles. When they finally got to the spinets, they were all gone.

Nor enough delegates.  Sorry, mate, we're watching this too... Big Smile

Notice on the right there are more links to videos by him.
