I just stumbled upon an annoucement of a major new biography of Maurice Durufle entitled Maurice Durufle:  The Man and His Music.  The author is James E. Frazier and the book is published by the University of Rochester Press.  Go to this website for more information:

I HIGHLY reccommend this book, and not just because I know the author personally.  The research is exhaustive and the writing style is fluid and authoritative.  A good read!

Thanks for the recommendation.  I have loved his music for many years and will order the book soon.  There are a lots of Durufle fans on this Forum, and I bet they'll be getting copies, too.

Definitely on my want list, though at £35, it's rather a commitment.  Also a relief that it's in English, my first language! 

I forgot to mention - I found one of these under my Christmas tree.
