    Hi all!

I also play the tenor trombone, the piano, and sing in a church choir.

    Regards,

You know you're probably playing too loud when you press the Tutti button, and decide it's not quite loud enough...

Hmmm.  I just found other copies of Highland Cathedral.
One, oddly enough is a hymn version in the key of A flat maj. The other two are the bagpipe version with copyright, ISA Music. If an organist wishes to accompany the pipes, He/She must transpose to the key of E flat maj.

Thanks for the info on the bagpipes. I'll ask around for it.

I play piano about as badly as I do the organ; I also play handbells passably well.

I didn't realise how many people there are out there that play such an interesting variety of instruments that I thought were never really played anymore.

Re: What other instruments do you play?

I play the piano, naturally, but I'm a far better organist than a pianist.

People seem to think that if you're a good organist you should be a good pianist, they don't realise that the two instruments are actually very different.

I have attempted to learn the violin, but I've had to drop it recently due to a lack of time. I'm sure the neighbours will be glad that they don't have to listen to me scratching away at the violin! Stick out tongue

Many peaople that I know say an organ is like two pianosStick out tongue. Also, when I tell people I play organ they say that I must be great at piano, but I'm not. I hate the weight of the keys.

Re: What other instruments do you play?

I play trombone in a community band, bass at church and the accordion.  The trombone is a Benge 165F, the bass is a Yamaha RBX170 and the accordion is a Parrot 34/72.  I keep telling myself I don't have time for all these but which one do I let go of?  Its a decision that I can't bear to make.  I'm even in that cycle of perpetually upgrading instruments.  The accordion is an upgrade and I've been considering a trombone upgrade.  The organ was upgraded about two months ago.  Next the bass...

Piano is in fact my first instrument. I have an old mediocre acoustic piano, and a Roland RD500 digital piano.

Since last year I also have a Hammond C3 with Lesley (long time dream come true !!)

Re: What other instruments do you play?

WOW!!! Its soo cool how everyone has such similar interests.

Just like every one else, I play, bass, double bass, guitar, piano, harp, harpsichord, accordion, sax, and  would like to play the thermin.

Why are organist tied to the interest in the thermin? or accordion? or bass?

Re: What other instruments do you play?

Opps forgot the drums, violin, and cello..... oh and the vibes for like 2 weeks. hehe. piano is my MAIN instrument Double bass is my 2nd instrument, and probably going to be my main. And then its organ and the rest follows.

I really do hope I can get better at organ, as I like it more than any other instrument. I want to get a degree in organ, but IS THERE A DEGREE IN ORGAN BUILDING? because that is what I really want to do.
