Oh do.  Message me before you do come down and I can arrange for us to visit the four manual organ in the Dome Concert Hall which was refurbished only three years ago and a lovely 3 manual Bevington,

Anyone else in the south of England is welcome for a meet.  In the summer with the beach it is lovely and with a pub seemingly on every street corner there is no shortage of good drinking holes.  Beer

    Don Furr:

After reading through all of this thread I'm not sure how to react.

My life if too much of an open book but  that's my decision.  Doesn't work for everyone.  It's just a damn shame that adults are forced to maintain a job where to reveal their real life/politics/feelings/emotions would cause them to be on the soup line.  I praise the Lord every day that I don't have to live in that world....and I also pray for those who do.

I think that it would be a great event if members of this forum could get together and meet each other.  However, I have 3 kids and a mortgage so it is doubtful that I will attend.

My life is also an open book.  After all I am an elected official (Republican BTW).  This world is a scary place and I feel that it would be dangerous to reveal too much info on the intenet.  Just because a member doesn't use their real first name doesn't mean that they are trying to hide anything.  I hope that there is a meeting set up, you may be surprised at the turnout.

Hook...I'll be sure to invite you down to Seymour for the Southern Indiana AGO event in October this year at my house! Only a hour away or so. :)

Sounds good to me.  In October that will be a beautiful drive.

Choirmaster - thanks for your generous invitation.

Do you also have access to (or contacts at) St. Mary, Redcliffe and Colston Hall?

I am new on this forum. I live in the Netherlands. It would be nice to meet other forum members who live in the Netherlands or Belgium.

Re: How do you feel about meeting fellow Forum members?

I personally would love to meet folks from the forum. Although I live in Canada, and by the looks of things I'm either the only one from Canada or one of the very few, everyone lives much farther away. So, I doubt we'd be able to meet in the near future. I do make a point, though, of visiting my dear Uncle Sam every now and then, so if I'm near or at your state, I'd love to know!

    Cheers!

Oh, I should add, if you're heading into Canada, send me a PM and maybe we can meet over some dinner or something! There are some wonderful organs where I am, not to mention the one I regularly play on! No worries there!

Re: How do you feel about meeting fellow Forum members?

Anyone in Cleveland is welcome to PM me. I haven't got a church job, but, I am familiar with many of the instruments in Cleveland (after all, I did go 'round visiting/cataloging/photographing/playing many of them for the better part of a month). However, the summer would work best, since right now I'm in school (college actually) with no car living about an hour outside of Cleveland. I do live within walking distance of three pipe organs : one Holtkamp tracker (Hiram Christian), one Holtkamp Martini Drinks and a three manual Schantz. yup, two out of every three organs at Hiram College are Holtkamps (well, officially, Hiram Christian is not associated with Hiram College and is even "off campus," but seeing as how it's only across a two lane road, it is mostly regarded as on campus).

This Summer Cleveland will play host to two weeks of organ conventions starting with ATOS, and then OHS, the crown jewel of the whole thing will be the restoration of the Cleveland Municipal organ, Skinner op. 328, 5/150, 1921. Although, just below that should be the inauguration of WRTOS "new" 4/28 Wurlitzer at the PAC in the Scottish Rit Temple, which also contains a big Austin.
